LONDON (Alliance News) – England/Wales house prices grew at the fastest pace in fourteen months in January, figures from Land Registry showed Friday.
House prices climbed 7.1% year-over-year in January, faster than the 5.5% rise in the previous month.
The latest rate of inflation was the quickest since November 2014, when prices had grown 7.4%.
The average house prices in England and Wales totaled GBP 191,812.
On a monthly basis, house price growth accelerated to 2.5% at the beginning of the year from 0.5% in December.
The regional data showed that London logged the most significant annual price increase by 13.9%, while the North East reported the smallest rise by 0.2%.
